Helping the industrial and commercial buildings sectors continually reduce energy use is an ongoing effort with numerous roles for organizations around the world. You can assist the Energy Management Working Group (EMWG) with its activities to accelerate the implementation of energy management systems (EnMS) in a variety of ways.

The top 5 ways to get involved:

  1. Use and promote our resources within your network: Help promote EnMS by sharing the EMWG’s valuable tools and resources, publications, and news with your network of members, customers, or readers.
  2. Share data, best practices, or lessons learned: Find out more about how you can engage in the EMWG’s activities related to Build the Business Case, Provide Support and Resources, and Set Policy. The EMWG welcomes your valuable contributions.
  3. Provide strategic guidance and expert input: The EMWG collaborates with non-governmental organizations, multilateral organizations, and other experts with specialized expertise and/or direct engagement with industrial and commercial facilities and companies. Organizations can collaborate with the EMWG to assist with implementation, help to promote energy management and the activities of the EMWG, and provide financial support. Currently, the EMWG is collaborating with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on preparing the workforce and the Institute for Industrial Productivity (IIP) on the EnMS Practitioner’s Toolbox.
  4. Become an EMWG member government: EMWG members share and learn from other government experts from around the world. Demonstrate your country’s leadership and share expertise and seek advice and assistance on EnMS policies and programs. Membership in the EMWG is open to any of the 25 governments participating in CEM initiatives. Non-CEM governments are also invited to participate as official Associate members.
  5. Stay up-to-date on EMWG activities: Enter your email address to be added to the CEM mailing list to be notified about EMWG news and releases.
